Ambassador's meeting with the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee
On June 14, 2023, Georgian Ambassador Nata Menabde met with the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, Niels Flemming Hansen.
At the meeting, the parties expressed satisfaction regarding the active agenda of bilateral relations between Georgia and Denmark and welcomed the positive dynamics of high-level visits and meetings.
Attention was focused on the priority of Georgia’s European integration. The Ambassador of Georgia shared with the Chairman information on the progress achieved and planned activities in terms of fulfilling the 12 priorities of the European Union. The expectation was noted that Georgia will receive candidate status by the end of the year, based on the "merit-based" approach.
The chairman of the committee once again reconfirmed Denmark's unwavering support for Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic integration process and expressed its readiness to support the implementation of EU recommendations, implementation of relevant reforms and sharing of experience.
The importance of strengthening ties and further strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries was underlined, and for this purpose, the parties noted the necessity of the exchange of visits.
