Danish Translation of Aphorisms from Shota Rustaveli’s Georgian Masterpiece - "The Knight in the Panther's Skin"

Accompanied by an exhibition of artistic illustrations.

Shota Rustaveli’s renowned, unique 12th-century epic poem "The Knight in the Panther's Skin" is a masterpiece of the world literature, translated into around 50 languages. This event will unveil the first-ever Danish translation of the selected extracts/aphorisms from the poem. The themes of the gender equality, freedom of expression, support, and mutual respect are values that resonate deeply in both Georgian and Danish cultures, contributing to build bridges between societies and enriching our shared cultural heritage.

"OTHELLO" (by William Shakespeare)  - A puppet performance by Tbilisi Nodar Dumbadze State Youth Theatre

The Tbilisi Youth Theatre's production of "Othello" by William Shakespeare is a unique performance designed for young adults, blending puppetry with live action. The puppets and set design are inspired by the sketches of renowned Georgian artist Petre Otskheli, created nearly a century ago for the legendary director Kote Marjanishvili's dramatic production of "Othello." This performance has been featured at several festivals, including the Cairo International Festival in Egypt in September 2023, where the directors won the Best Director award.
