On December 5, 2024, a screening of the renowned Georgian feature film The Wishing Tree was held at the Bio Paradis cinema in Reykjavík. The event was organized by the Embassy of Georgia in Denmark and Iceland (with residence in Copenhagen) in collaboration with the Georgian National Film Center.

Dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the distinguished Georgian filmmaker Tengiz Abuladze, the screening also served as a continuation of the Georgian cinema retrospective showcased during the Georgian Culture Days in Copenhagen in the Autumn of 2024.

The event was opened with a welcoming speech by the Ambassador of Georgia to Denmark and Iceland, Nata Menabde. The Ambassador expressed gratitude to the attendees and emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy, particularly with the non-resident Embassy at place.

The screening had an active attendance, including representatives of Iceland's state and private sectors, the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, and the Georgian diaspora.

The screening was followed by a discussion with a glass of Georgian wine.
