Embassy hosted the representatives of the Georgian and Danish Defence Institutions

On September 6, 2023, the Embassy of Georgia hosted the representatives of the Strategy and War Institute of the Stabilization Center of the Royal Danish Defence College, representatives of the National Defense Academy of Georgia, and the Defence Institution Building School who are on the working visit to Denmark.

The first part of the event was devoted to a professional discussion on the issues of Black Sea security and regional challenges. Ambassador of Georgia Nata Menabde, Senior Researcher of the Danish Institute of International Studies (DIIS) Flemming Splidsboel, and Associate Professor of the Royal Danish Defence College Claus Mathiesen made presentations at the meeting.

The Ambassador focused on Georgia's priorities, the importance of European and Euro-Atlantic integration and the need for consolidated support of international partners. The Ambassador highlighted the positive and active dynamics of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Denmark, including in the direction of defence and security.

The invited speakers focused on the features of the European security architecture and topics related to the Euro-Atlantic expansion.

The presentations were followed by the Q&A with active interaction of the participants.

At the end of the event, the dialogue continued in an informal setting.

Danish Royal Defence College is hosting Georgian colleagues with the funding of the "Peace and Stabilization Rrogramme" within the framework of the three-year cooperation program starting in 2023, which aims to strengthen the partnership between Georgia and Denmark in the field of defence and bring it closer to NATO standards.
