Musical Evening - “Georgia in Sound” Held in Copenhagen

On October 12, 2025, the Embassy of Georgia in Denmark hosted a musical evening - “Georgia in Sound” at Vor Frelsers Church in Copenhagen. The concert featured young musicians from the Danish ensemble Verdenslyd, who performed works by Georgian composers.

The event opened with welcoming remarks from H.E. Nata Menabde, Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Denmark, who spoke about Georgia’s centuries-old musical traditions, its rich sacred and secular heritage, and the diversity of its musical culture.

The program included compositions by Giya Kancheli, Vaja Azarashvili, and other Georgian composers, which made a deep impression on the audience.

It is worth noting that in 2024, the Days of Georgian Culture were held in Denmark in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, featuring a performance of traditional Georgian polyphonic singing by the ensemble Basiani.

“Georgia in Sound” offered yet another opportunity to promote Georgia’s musical heritage and to deepen cultural ties between Georgia and Denmark.

The evening was attended by representatives of the Danish private sector, members of the diplomatic corps, the Georgian diaspora, and other guests interested in music.
