Georgian theatre first time in Denmark
On September 30, 2024, as part of Georgian Culture Days in Copenhagen, the Tbilisi Nodar Dumbadze Professional State Youth Theatre presented a distinctive adaptation of Shakespeare's Othello at the Aveny-T Theater.
Directed by Dimitri Khvtisiashvili and Gia Marghania, this unique performance seamlessly integrated live acting with puppetry, offering a fresh interpretation of the famous tragedy. The puppets' design drew inspiration from sketches by renowned Georgian artist Petre Otskheli, originally crafted almost a century ago for Kote Marjanishvili's production of Othello.
This event marked the first-ever performance by a Georgian theater cast in Denmark, and the audience responded with enthusiastic appreciation.
