Georgian film "From Life To Life" at an annual Film Festival in Copenhagen
On the 10th of November, 2024, the Danish Film Institute (Cinemateket), in collaboration with the Embassy of Georgia in Copenhagen, hosted a screening of "From Life to Life" - a film by Georgian director Beka Sikharulidze.
The screening was a part of Cinemateket's "East by Southeast" festival, an annual event dedicated to showcasing new and distinguished films from Central and Eastern Europe. This year’s festival, running from 7 to 30 November, is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the EU "Big Enlargement" and is co-organized in collaboration with the EU Commission representation in Denmark.
The screening of the Georgian Film “From Life to Life” was opened with speeches by: Tobias Lynge Herler, Film Programmes at Cinemateket; Per Haugaard, Head of the EU Commission Representation in Denmark; and Nata Menabde, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Denmark. Following the film, the audience enjoyed a Q&A session with the Director and lead actor, Beka Sikharulidze, providing insight into the film’s themes and production.
The event was attended by the representatives of the Danish state and private sectors, the diplomatic community, the Georgian diaspora, along cinema enthusiasts.
The film was warmly received by the audience, and the evening concluded with a Georgian wine reception, hosted by the Georgian Embassy.
