Georgia's Independence Day in Copenhagen
On June 4, 2025, Georgia’s Independence Day was celebrated in Copenhagen, organized by the Embassy of Georgia.
The event was opened by the national anthems of Georgia and Denmark.
The guests were welcomed by H.E. Nata Menabde, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia, who emphasized the special significance and shared spirit of the 26th of May 26 for every Georgian; highlighted Georgia’s history and independence, progress and challenges, and underlined importance of deepening Georgian-Danish relations. Emphasizing the importance of Georgia’s European integration, the Ambassador welcomed Denmark’s upcoming EU Presidency, starting on the 1st of July.
As part of the cultural program, the Georgian traditional choreographic performances were presented by the invited Georgian artists. With special emphases on Georgian dances, the Ambassador highlighted the rich diversity of Georgia’s culture and its centuries-old traditions.
The event was also accompanied by the video presentations, prepared by the Ministry of Culture of Georgia, showcasing diverse aspects of national cultural heritage and traditions.
The reception was attended by the members of the diplomatic corps accredited in Copenhagen, members of the public and private sectors, academic and civil societies, business community, and the representative of the Georgian diaspora.
The National Day event was concluded with the Georgian wine reception.
