TEIMURAZ JANJALIA HAS MET WITH LISBET ZILMER-JOHNS
Within the framework of his working visit to Copenhagen, on 29 June 2023, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Teimuraz Janjalia, held a meeting with the State Secretary for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark, Lisbet Zilmer-Johns.
The sides welcomed the dynamics of Georgia-Denmark bilateral relations and expressed the readiness to hold political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries in the near future.
Teimuraz Janjalia emphasized Denmark's outstanding support in the process of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration, which takes on a particularly meaningful focus amid the ongoing geopolitical challenges.
Special note was taken of the high-level conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark to mark the 30th anniversary of the "Copenhagen Criteria". Teimuraz Janjalia addressed the Conference and spoke about the important reforms carried out by Georgia on the way to joining the European Union.
Teimuraz Janjalia briefed his colleague about the severe humanitarian situation in the occupied regions of Georgia and the gross facts of human rights violations.
Lisbet Zilmer-Johns, for her part, once again confirmed Denmark's strong support for the European and Euro-Atlantic integration process. It was noted that Denmark will continue to consistently promote Georgia's European priorities.
The sides agreed to maintain regular dialogue and active interaction for further deepening of cooperation within both bilateral and international formats.
