Ambassador's meeting with the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament

On the 6^th of December 2023, Georgian Ambassador Nata Menabde met with the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee of the Danish Parliament, Niels Flemming Hansen.

At the beginning of the conversation, the parties recalled the successful visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, to Denmark on November 16^th 2023.

 Special emphasis was placed on the priority issue of Georgia's accession to the European Union. The ambassador briefed Niels Flemming Hansen on the progress of implementation of EU priorities, about the important reforms carried out by Georgia, and the plans, which the Georgian side successfully continues to implement in close coordination with European partners.

Denmark's strong and consolidated support for Georgia's priorities was emphasized, which is of particular importance at this important moment of European integration.

 The Chairman of the European Affairs Committee welcomed the positive recommendation announced by the European Commission in November 2023 and noted the expectation of a positive decision at the European Council meeting regarding granting Georgia the status of a candidate country.
