Ambassador Gigi Gigiadze together with Mariane Bols, Honorary Consul of Georgia (Horsens), visited the Posters Museum in “Den Gamle By” Aarhus, were they were guided to exhibition “Georgian Posters and Georgian Alphabet” by the director of the Posters Museum, Elsebeth Aasted Schanz and the representative of the Museum, organizer of the exhibition, Line Fogh Sørensen.

The exhibition “Georgian Alphabet and Posters from Georgia” is organized within the series of cultural events dedicated to 100th anniversary of Georgia’s first democratic Republic.

Through the 29 posters on display, exhibition shares the story of the beautiful antique Georgian alphabet, where part of the exhibited posters focus on a single letter, while others are theater- and movie posters from the collection of the Georgian State Museum, Art Palace. The movie posters have a complete different character. They are dramatic and expressive and illustrate the beauty of the Georgian Mkhedruli writing system.

The exhibition is open for public in the Danish Poster Museum’s exhibition building in Den Gamle By till 21 May 2018.

Georgian Embassy in Copenhagen expresses its sincere appreciation to @artpalace.ge for providing unique Georgian posters to the Danish side. As well as, we would like to take this opportunity to thank @danskplakatmuseum for the excellent collaboration and bringing such a wonderful exhibition to life.
